About Us
WHO, WHAT and WHY?
Formals 4 Fosters is under the umbrella of the 501c3 Non-Profit Foster Youth of America and is a community effort that collects formal dresses and suits for foster children specifically for their homecoming, prom and formal events that happen throughout the year like our annual Winter Wonderland of Central Florida. In addition to formal wear we also collect interview style clothing as many of our youth are entering the workforce and we want to encourage them by providing them with an outfit they can feel confident in during their interview.
We have been hosting formal clothing drives for many years but this year we decided to make this effort official by giving it a name Formals 4 Fosters. As you can imagine many of our kids have never owned a formal gown or suit and many may opt out of attending these special events as they have nothing to wear. Formals 4 Fosters, with the help and support of our community, hopes to change that ensuring that every youth has an outfit they can feel proud in.
In addition to helping with formal attire we hope to also be able to help in areas like hair, makeup and even tickets to some of these special events and opportunities. DONATIONS
We are currently looking for gently used formal wear including Homecoming, Prom dresses, suits, shoes and accessories as well as interview style clothing for both boys and girls. Because styles change and we want our youth to look and feel their best we currently only accept age appropriate clothing in styles that are 7years old or newer. Please nothing with holes or stains. We want our children to know they are loved and valued and for that reason we would not give them anything that we would not give to our own children.
DROP OFF LOCATIONS
